This piece dates back to Stefano Pilati´s time at Saint Laurent, which was from 2004 to 2012, so after Tom Ford and before Hedi Slimane. The terribly underrated Italian fashion designer Pilati went to Zegna after he left Saint Laurent and founded his own brand "Random Identities" in 2017. During his time at Saint Laurent, the house was still called Yves Saint Laurent. This blazer is from the Spring Summer 2012 collection, Pilati´s second to last collection.
This piece is a very light unlined blazer in two shades of white. It can be worn like a traditional blazer or buttoned up completely like a mandarin jacket. The fit of the garment is truly beautiful and timeless. It has countless stunning details like the unique working cuffs or the changing thickness of the fabric which gives the blazer a unique look. Due to its lightness, it works perfectly all year round and it can be styled with everything from a turtleneck to a t-shirt.
