Carol Christian Poell, who was born in Austria in 1966, lives and works in Milan, where he started his clothing brand in 1995. He does not work within the classic fashion cycle but rather produces and shows when he feels like it. Poell, who has developed a cult following around himself, is widely considered one of the most important and influential designers in the avant-garde and artisanal fashion world. Especially his use of leather and tailoring are revolutionary and highly sought-after among collectors. 

This blazer is a great example of the latter. It is a two-buttoned, single-breasted blazer in a very unique cut since the lapels are shaped in a way that the lower button is used to close the jacket, not the top one. As consequence, the lapels are wider than usual with CCP pieces and the general fit has that certain avant-garde touch. This cut from Poell is very rare. Adding to the already special fit, this blazer has fabric fading throughout which gives it a unique look that matches the worn-in and rugged aesthetic.

Sadly, the individual Poell code is not recognizable anymore. However, this piece should be made from cotton or at least a cotton blend, with a 100% Cupro lining which is the highest quality lining available from Poell.
