This stunning trenchcoat comes straight from the runway of Junya Watanabe's Fall Winter 2007/2008 collection. It was featured as look 16.

The coat itself is made from waxed cotton that has a certain leather look to it. This is contrasted by a colorful blue checkered lining. This pattern can be found again at the back of the coat. However, this blue fabric detail is removable for a more muted look. The trenchcoat is very versatile as it can be worn with a belt or without one, with the collar up or down, the fabric detail showing or not, etc.

The military look of this coat is no coincidence as Junya Watanabe likes to rework classics, especially classic of utilitarian and functional clothing, of which the trenchcoat is a prime example.
