Geoffrey B. Small founded his label in Boston in 1979 and has since moved his studio to a small town in Italy, where all his products are fully handmade using local techniques. He is considered one of the leading figures in the world of avant-garde and artisanal fashion. Various designers like John Alexander Skelton, Archivio J.M Ribot, Ziggy Chen and Uma Wang have been inspired by him and his designs. B. Small manages to stay out of the fashion circle/ industry and works completely independently. Adding to that, he started very early to consider his environmental impact and tries to use only environmentally friendly fabrics and techniques. He was also the first in the world to present a fully recycled collection.

Geoffrey B. Small´s standard of quality is unmatched within the fashion world. His pieces are fully handmade from the most luxurious materials, to create, what are probably the best clothes in the world. All of this is combined with a totally unique aesthetic, which is mainly inspired by garments from the early 20th century but not limited to that.

B. Small produces less than 500 unique pieces per season, all of them handmade from natural fabrics. Most of his pieces exist only a few times and are only available with one retailer. This piece is number 15 out of 21.

This specific jacket is the designer's take on a French Farmers jacket. It has beautiful contrasting stitching in the collar area and a contrasting pattern on the inside, which is visible if the sleeves are rolled up. The jacket is unlined. As always, all buttonholes are handstitched and the buttons themself are made from real horn.
