Paul Harnden Shoemakers is one of the most iconic yet enigmatic brands in avant-garde and artisanal fashion. Very little is known about the British designer, who is famously private, yet his work has had a profound influence. For many, Harnden is regarded as a foundational figure in avant-garde fashion, inspiring a new generation of designers such as John Alexander Skelton, Archivio J.M. Ribot, and Ziggy Chen.
Renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship, Harnden uses century-old techniques that contribute to the distinctive quality and aged appearance of his garments. Every piece is handmade in England or Scotland and designed in his Brighton studio.
This particular blazer is a classic Paul Harnden design. Fully closeable, it has appeared in numerous variations over the years. This version features a rich blue fabric with subtle red pinstripes and a contrasting ivory cotton lining. It is finished with four dark buttons at the front, two working buttons on each sleeve, two large front flap pockets, a chest pocket, and two interior pockets. The fit is rather long and slim, staying true to the label's signature silhouette.
