Paul Harnden Shoemakers is one of the most iconic yet equally mysterious brands in the world of avant-garde and artisanal fashion. Little is known about the British designer and his work, as he is notoriously shy. Despite this, for many, Paul Harnden is considered the most important designer in avant-garde fashion, often seen as the point where it all began. A whole generation of designers, such as John Alexander Skelton, Archivio J.M. Ribot, and Ziggy Chen, draw inspiration from his work and methods.
For many, his level of craftsmanship is beyond compare. Harnden employs numerous century-old techniques, contributing to the outstanding quality and antique look of his products. Each piece is fully handmade in England or Scotland and designed in his studio in Brighton.
This specific shirt is an extremely light and flowy cotton shirt. It is somewhat see-through and therefore perfectly suited as a layering piece. It has a slightly pleated design which gives it the typical worn-in look all Harden garments share. Adding to that, it features a row of interesting white buttons and subtle cream contrast stitching.
