This piece dates back to Margiela's Fall/Winter collection from 2008. At that time, Martin Margiela himself was still at the helm at his Maison and responsible for all the designs, although it should become one of his last collections.
The turtleneck features a horizontal stripe pattern in various shades of grey. This conservative look, one may think of a Christmas sweater, is contrasted by the distressed details which give the piece a punk touch. Therefore it is a classic Martin Margiela piece.
